How we won a pitch competition at Latitude59!

Why you should apply for Estonia’s biggest pitching competitions at Latitude59.

Great news first: We won at Latitude59!

We are excited and honoured to be one of the Latitude 59 pitch competition winners! Last Friday we took the stage to showcase Zelos, our all-in-one solution for volunteer management. We explained how our mobile and the web-friendly app can help coordinators to delegate tasks, keep their volunteers engaged, and reward commitment to good causes.

We worked hard. Really, really, hard. And we won the top prize of the Nordic Angel Program by EstBAN competition.

This is the culmination of a great journey, with many pitches along the way.

We would like to thank our amazing team, families, friends and supporters who have helped us to bring Zelos to the market. A special thank you goes to Storytek and Startup Wise Guys, our incubators.

And finally, our biggest thank you goes to the Nordic Angels Program by estBAN: thank you for believing in Zelos, we promise to invest our award wisely.

We were blown away by the level of organization and scope of Latitude59. We will upload a recap video soon, in the meantime here are some details regarding the event and the different opportunities it offers for your startup.

What is Latitude59?

Latitude59 is an intimate startup event that aims to connect investors with startups. It takes place in Kultuurikatel, the heart of Tallinn’s creative hub.

What does Latitude59 offer?

Latitude 59 is a startup conference that offers speeches, pitches and networking opportunities in a cosy atmosphere that focuses on fostering connections between key players of the startup ecosystem.

Which are the Latitude59 pitching competitions?

Regarding pitching competitions, in 2019 Latitude hosted four different events:

     •   Latitude59 Pitch Competition: open to Estonian and foreign companies. This competition for early-stage startups offers a one-day boot camp for founders and key team members. Its top prize is €10,000 equity free cash.

     •   Stunt pitch competition by Superangel: A pitching competition that takes place while founders skydive (!!!). The best pitch wins a place among top 10 shortlisted teams in the Base Camp Hackathon and a chance to win a spot in the Alpine House Spring Batch.

     •   Fukuoka pitch event: A pitching competition organized by Japan’s startup hub, that offers awards such as a round trip ticket for Fukuoka’s top startup event, right to have a booth and participate in the pitching competition in Startup City Fukuoka, subsidy for residential and office space, and free business consultation.

     •   NAP Pitch Competition: Open for startups with up to €3M pre-money valuation and connection to the New Nordics Region. This pitching competition top prize is a €250K investment from Nordic Angel Program (NAP) syndication by EstBAN.

What is the final pitching competition like?

Latitude59 pitching competition takes place on the second day of the event. It has a friendly atmosphere so you can feel at ease while presenting your project to the jury members, guest investors, and the startup community at large. We are so thankful for this opportunity, the award is just the cherry on top.

So, what now?

We are thrilled to have won this investment and will spend it wisely to deliver our volunteer management solution to as many organizations as possible. Stay tuned for more updates on our volunteer management application.
