Shift swapping

Shift swapping is when two team members exchange their assigned shifts so both shifts remain covered.

In UK rota-based teams this is the clearer local term than shift trade. The exchange still has to be recorded properly, and the resulting pattern still has to respect role fit and Working Time rest. A swap that leaves someone short of rest is not fixed just because two people agreed to it.

Zelos does not run worker-to-worker swap approvals. The practical Zelos pattern is that one person releases a shift and another claims it, with the updated rota visible to the team.
