Blue Card
A Blue Card is Queensland's Working with Children Check. It is not a national Australian clearance and is not automatically valid in other states.
A Blue Card is Queensland’s Working with Children Check: a state screening clearance for people in child-related work in Queensland.
Other states and territories run their own schemes — WWCC in New South Wales, Working with Children Check in Victoria, and equivalents elsewhere. Clearances are not automatically portable across borders. A national police check is a different document and does not replace a Blue Card where the role requires one.
No single national law requires every not-for-profit to screen every volunteer. Zelos does not issue or verify Blue Cards. The coordinator still decides who is cleared.
Also called: Working with Children Check (other Australian states). Related: Working with Children Check, working bee.
