Working with Children Check

A Working with Children Check is a state or territory screening scheme for people in child-related work.

WWCC in New South Wales, Blue Card in Queensland, Working with Children Check in Victoria, and equivalents elsewhere are separate registers. A clearance is not automatically portable across state borders. A national police check is a different document and does not replace a Working with Children Check where the role requires one.

No single national law requires every not-for-profit to screen every volunteer; the organisation decides based on role risk. Store check results as personal information under the Privacy Act 1988. Zelos does not run Working with Children Checks and does not gate signups when a check lapses. The coordinator still decides who is cleared.
