Exempt / non-exempt
A US term. Exempt and non-exempt are FLSA labels for minimum wage and overtime coverage. The UK does not use those labels as its default worker-status frame.
A US term. Exempt and non-exempt are Fair Labor Standards Act labels for federal minimum-wage and overtime coverage.
In the UK, do not copy those labels into policy. The local questions are employee, worker, or self-employed status, plus whether pay clears the National Minimum Wage and whether working-time rules are met. A highly paid job title does not create a US-style exemption category in UK law.
