A US term. Exempt and non-exempt are FLSA labels for minimum wage and overtime coverage. Australia does not use those labels as its default Fair Work frame.
A US term. Exempt and non-exempt are Fair Labor Standards Act labels for federal minimum-wage and overtime coverage.
In Australia, do not copy those labels into policy. Minimum pay, overtime, and penalty rates sit under the Fair Work Act 2009 and the relevant modern award or enterprise agreement. A salaried role can still be covered by award obligations.
