Shift trade

A shift trade is an arrangement where two team members swap their assigned shifts, so each works the other’s original slot instead of their own.

Trades give people a way to handle scheduling conflicts without leaving a gap in coverage. If someone can’t make their Friday shift but a colleague wants to pick it up in exchange for their Saturday, both slots stay filled without the manager having to find a replacement.

How shift trades work in practice
