Background check

A background check is a broad US term for screening a worker or volunteer before they take a role.

The phrase can cover criminal-history checks, identity verification, driving-record checks, licence checks, or reference checks depending on the job. That breadth is why the term travels badly. Other countries often use narrower named schemes instead of one generic catch-all.

Zelos does not run background checks. Coordinators still decide who is cleared for the role.
